Dusty’s – A Sunny Start to Something Special
A bespoke café website build in Brixworth, Northamptonshire
Welcome to our first post from The Potting Shed — the behind-the-scenes blog where we share how we grow standout websites across Northamptonshire. First up: a fresh and fun build for Dusty’s, an independent café in the heart of Brixworth.
The Inspiration for the website design
The idea for the overall look and feel of the website took shape with a hand-drawn sketch: bold yellow frontage, geometric layout, and a warm, local vibe that matches the café’s character, provided by Jordan.

Dusty’s cafe Inspiration provided by client. Let to 90’s Minimalism feel.
This little shop is known for epic breakfast rolls, artisan coffee, and a genuine community spirit — so the website needed to feel the same. Minimal fuss, high impact.
The Concept – Retro Meets Bold Branding
Taking cues from retro diners and ‘90s minimalism, we crafted a visual identity based on clean white space, a vibrant yellow palette, oversized blocky headlines using the Anton font, and bold black accents. It’s the kind of design that makes you smile — fun, functional, and totally Dusty’s.
What We’re Building
We’re creating a scrolling, single-page café website that works perfectly on both desktop and mobile. The layout includes sticky navigation to Opening Times, Menu, and Contact sections. The menu is clearly presented, with embedded Google Reviews, a contact form, and an optional Instagram feed integration to showcase new treats. We’ve also created custom brand assets for merch — caps, polos, and takeaway cup mockups.
This is a real look at the build in progress, where web design meets storytelling. The angled photo layout adds energy and rhythm, and everything is designed with performance in mind — fast load speed, mobile responsiveness, and clean code.
